August 2026 and a night to remember: A fab. night down the local beach (and a few other places). Thanks to a heads up from Vinny at Wild Derrynane 😊. The main beach was alight with bioluminescence, so I grabbed a few snaps and then waited eagerly for the first surge of water to enter the lagoon as the tide rose. Luckily a little bore appeared, despite the small tide, which was just enough to kick up the sparkle for a few minutes. The clouds came and went most of the night, opening on occasion to reveal the Milky Way Core, bathed in green airglow.
